People have been making films about the Bible since people have been making films. You can put the Bible in a modern context.

These films are perfectly matched to the lectionary and ready-made for that sort of benefit to a congregation.

Churches need to wake up to the reality that younger generations now learn in different ways. If you want their attention, you better be good, or at least effective. The fact is, I am an advocate for InLighten Films … these films are incredibly well-done: well-acted, well-photographed, well-written, well-directed, and yes, I think they are theologically sound. I even think they are theologically profound.

These stories become ways that open up realities that might be otherwise inaccessible to us.

The InLighten Films series is enhancing the teaching content of my Biblical Ethics classes at the McCallie School. These films display a variety of morals, virtues, and ethics that are extremely important to the fabric of our society. These films are crafted shorts with the ability to connect across our international student body and teach timeless lessons.

In both our current pandemic days and in our post-pandemic future, congregations will find the Inlighten Films to be a life-giving resource for youth gatherings, Sunday School classes, and devotional moments to share online and when we can gather in church buildings again.
